Bondwoman drew my attention to this wondrous piece of public art whilst we were in Berlin a few weeks ago. It is situated outside what I think must be one of the most beautiful buildings in Berlin, the brand new station, the Hauptbahnhof. What you cannot see from this angle is that just behind this statue is a great bar where one can sit outside, drink beer and people watch.

Like the previous photo this was taken during a walk on St. Abbs Head; I was particularly attracted by the quality of the light on the day and how it changed the green from very dark at the stalks to an almost yellow in the distance….

This was taken on a recent walk on St. Abbs Head, I just could not resist getting a low angle up through the reeds highlighting the length and shape of the leaves.

The Bond’s have had a short break in Berlin (BondWoman for work, BondBloke for sheer pleasure), I was attracted by this reflection of the end of some disused tram sheds. The photo below puts the reflection into its proper context.

This was taken during a trip to Cornwall in April, it is a view across the Carrick Roads from St. Anthony Head. As usual what attracted me was the quality of the light, especially that being reflected from the sea, and, although not looking directly into the sun, the way i which it threw the two ships into a stark relief.

It was the Clematis growing up through the other shrub (sorry just don’t know what it is) that attracted me, not only the contrast of the different flowers, but the contrast of the whole with the stone building behind…

I just love bluebells, especially when one sees both the blue and white versions in such close proximity.

Whilst taking a walk along one of the many disused railway tracks that have been converted to cycle tracks at the weekend I was captivated by the sun shafting through the trees onto the stonework of one of the many bridges…

I must have walked past this particular lamp post on numerous occasions and have never even noticed it until it was drawn to my attention when walking with a friend on Sunday morning. It is in a small industrial estate, where its beauty seems to be so out of place.

This is part of a propellor of a ship that now resides within the Ocean Terminal complex in Leith, and on a recent visit I noticed the light catching it at just the right angle to create these patterns of light and shade across the blade…
